Founded by a group of Croatian immigrants in 1988, Gwelup Croatia SC is a proud family club based in the tranquil lakeside suburb of Gwelup in Western Australia.
Now into its fourth decade of existence, the club was initially formed as a social hub for locals of Croatian descent looking to get together on weekends with friends who shared the same passion for the world game – football. The club has since risen through the ranks of WA football and now welcomes players and families of all ethnicities and backgrounds as it seeks to establish itself as one of the northern suburbs’ most diverse sporting organisations.
Our vision is to offer the community a focal point where both friends and family are able to comfortably enjoy their football while experiencing a sense of tradition, culture and identity that is unique in comparison to other clubs in Perth.
Gwelup Croatia also has a proud history of never being relegated from the state's amateur or state leagues and regularly competes in the Australian-Croatian soccer tournaments held throughout the continent every year.
In 2020, Gwelup’s senior men’s team competed in the National Premier Leagues West for the first time ever, after winning a promotion from the State First Division in 2019. A respectable fourth-place finish was achieved, despite a Covid-19-disrupted season.
In 2018, the club achieved a runner-up league position, a State Cup Final showing and was one of WA’s three representatives in the FFA Cup Round of 32 in what was one of its most successful seasons on record.
The club also has a Women's State League team - which has had a successful run with several years of continuous championship titles and promotions - and several junior sides which are all competitive in their respective leagues.
We look forward to your continued support in what we hope will be another fantastic season in 2021.
WE ARE THE TEAM!
